Seller’s Comments

All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance.  We can assist with financing and shipping as needed.

1994 was a big year for the Mustang.  It introduced the world to Ford’s new SN95 platform, displacing the long-running Fox Body.  Motor Trend named the Mustang their Car Of The Year for only the second time.  And after a 15-year absence, the model returned as the Indy 500 Pace Car in the form of a Cobra convertible.  To commemorate this achievement, Ford produced 1,000 Pace Cars for the street, accounting for less than 1% of Mustang production that year.  While that makes any such Pace Car rather rare, this one is even more exceptional with only 40 miles since new and lots of great documentation.

This example is #512 and was purchased new from Cook County Ford in southern Georgia.  Its original owner trailered it to shows and accumulated a mere 20 miles in almost 30 years of ownership.  Today it reads just 40 miles!  All 1994 Pace Cars were configured as Cobra convertibles with Rio Red paint and a Saddle Brown soft top with matching leather interior.  There is also a black parade boot with storage bag.  Wheels are the correct Cobra 17” polished aluminum pieces which still have their factory Goodyear Eagle GS-C tires.  In fact, with the exception of the battery and disconnect, everything on this car is stock and original.

All Pace Cars were powered by Ford’s venerable 5.0L V8 with factory Cobra upgrades.  This is mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and an 8.8” limited slip rear end with 3.08 gears.  Note the exhaust stickers are still intact and legible.  Other standard features include power steering and power front disc brakes with 13” front rotors.  It was a lot of performance in its day.

The leather interior is also factory original and in excellent condition.  Note the floor mats and keyfobs are unused and have never been out of their original packaging.  The serial number plaque is affixed ahead of the shifter.  Everything works as it should and all owner manuals are present.  Additional documentation includes a window sticker, Marti report, Ford certificate, warranty card, and a variety of letters and brochures.  There is also a dealer newsletter highlighting this car along with a 1:24 model.

If you are looking for a collectible Mustang then this one should be on your list.  We are talking about a documented 1994 Pace car with only 40 miles!  It is complete, original, and fully operational.  Be sure to see all the pictures in the gallery and let us know if you need any others.  Pace Car or otherwise, you won’t find many SN95 Mustangs like this one.
