Seller’s Comments

All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance.  We can assist with financing and shipping as needed.

This 1971 Corvette convertible is a great example of what the early C3 generation was all about.  It retains the purity of the Stingray design with its steel bumpers and hidden wiper door, has a great presence with its bright red paint and polished wheels, and is fun to drive with its numbers-matching 350ci engine and 4-speed transmission.  It has also seen plenty of refurbishment work to keep it looking and running great.  All that and the ability to drop the top at a moment’s notice makes for a great Corvette experience.

This car was built in late April 1971 and was originally finished in the somewhat offbeat War Bonnet Yellow.  It was completely repainted in a more appealing bright red and received a new black convertible top along with chrome pieces, lenses, and emblems.  It has tremendous curb appeal, especially with the shiny 17” wheels which wear 225/50 tires from 2023.  The underside is in good condition as well without any evidence of rust or trauma.

This Corvette retains its original CJL-suffix 350ci small block.  Originally rated at 270hp, it was recently rebuilt with a variety of performance parts to bump things closer to the LT1’s 330hp (thus the decals and console plate).  Upgrades include ported heads and an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold topped by a Quadrajet carburetor.  There is also an HEI distributor with larger plug wires.  The 4-speed Muncie transmission is also original to the car and provides a much sportier driving experience over the 3-speed automatic.  This car is also equipped with power steering for easy maneuverability.

The interior was redone with beautiful red leather seat covers.  The instrument cluster and gauges are all working and look terrific.  There is also a tilt steering column which is very useful on a C3.  A modern Pioneer head unit with rear mounted speakers was installed in place of the factory sound system.  Two important items on this generation Corvette are the vacuum headlight doors and wiper door; these all work perfectly on this car.  Also functional are the interior lights, turn signals, horn, heater / defroster, and parking brake.  Note a spare tire and carrier are also present.

This Corvette offers a lot of fun for its next owner, but you better not mind attention as this car draws a lot of looks!  Beyond this, it has been well maintained and is ready for the road today.  And after all, running through the gears with the top down should be the best part of owning such a car.
